Laura Bechthold holds a B. A. in Corporate Management & Economics (Major) and Communication & Cultural Management (Minor) from Zeppelin Universität in Friedrichshafen, as well as a M.Sc. in Sustainability Science and Policy from Maastricht University.

Concerning her professional background, Laura worked for Deloitte in the field of sustainability & innovation in Rotterdam, did a one year traineeship in journalism, was an intern at the online giving platform betterplace.org and worked at several business conferences in the Arab region. In parallel to her studies, she was co-founder of a student-run agency for social business development. Thereby, she initiated a project in collaboration with the ministry of justice of Baden-Württemberg and the penitentiary of Heilbronn in which long-term male inmates were involved in the development and implementation of a brand named “Jailers”. In 2015, she co-founded the online solution plattform Eleza.org together with many other Centerlings.

Laura joined the CDTM team in 2013. She conducts her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof Dietmar Harhoff, PhD, at the Max-Planck-Institute for Innovation and Competition.
In her research, she works on the topic of Entrepreneurship Education with a focus on role models.
