Mark Bilandzic completed his undergraduate and graduate degree in Media Computer Science at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. Working on projects as a visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley, Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, and the research lab of Infosys Technologies in Bangalore, Mark has specialised in mobile technologies, web development and human computer interaction. Mark’s field of interest is at the intersection of people, place and technology. His PhD research targets design issues of the hybrid space, i.e. how virtual layers of digital information and interaction opportunities can amplify people’s situated experiences at physical places. He explored opportunities given by ubiquitous computing technologies, in particular ambient information systems, to create meaningful digital social interaction affordances as embodied parts of the physical environment. Mark did his PhD at the Urban Informatics Research Lab at Queensland University of Technology.
