We are living in constant movement. At the Center everyone is always on the go. Constantly moving. Balancing regular studies with Center projects and personal lifes. Everyone is always connected. Sending emails, having calls, answering texts… And often it feels like we forget to just… breathe…

On Thursday, Martina and Tim, founders of mynd:way, offered our Centerlings the opportunity to do exactly that, breathe. The mindfulness workshop, as part of the new initiatives to improve Center life, guided us through a few exercises designed to increase focus. After a guided mediation, we were confronted with active listening. The exercise challenged us to take the emotional response of the listener away, hence just focusing on the pure content. It was challenging for both the speaker and the listener to share their emotional status through such a pure form of communication, and a lot of emotions came out to float.

Centerlings at Mynd:way Workshop

Mynd:way is trying to change the way digital and agile organisations nowadays communicate and develop. Their methods are based on modern neurobiology and psychological research, and are presented in their book “Achtsamkeit und Innovation in integrierten Organisationen” – a must read for anyone looking to experience a more mindful approach to work.

Thank you very much to mynd:way for the great experience, hopefully this workshop will lead to a more focused and effective work culture at the Center!
