Research field: Creative Work Environments, Music Production

Florian Wiethof did his Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics), and his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Paderborn, and his vocational training as Industrial Mechanic at the IHK OWL. During his studies, he worked as a dual student in research and manufacturing at a large automotive supplier. Also, he spent many long nights in the Formula Student, developing vehicle simulations, carbon fibre structures, a driverless race car, a medical respirator at the start of COVID, and leading the team developing a combustion, electric, and driverless car in parallel.

After his studies, he moved to Munich to dive deeper into entrepreneurship. He co-founded and developed a conferencing platform for new students in Munich to get to know each other during COVID together with UnternehmerTUM. In Fall 2021, he joined the CDTM and caught interest in economics. Building on his background, he became a Pre-Seed Investor at Picus Capital in Munich, responsible for setting up and co-creating deep technological and economically feasible startups. After some time in psychological research and high school teaching, and as a passionate musician and writer, he developed scientific interest in the role of collaborative art and music creation for education and workplace cultures.

Florian joined the CDTM as a CA in August 2023. He is currently co-owning the "Entrepreneurship Laboratory" (eLab) and owning the "6G - Business Modelling and Prototyping" (BM&P) course.
