When I joined the CDTM, I was a 21-year-old youngster who was just starting her Master’s degree in Information Systems. It felt amazing to be part of the community and to overcome unique challenges that were often outside of my comfort zone.

However, I don’t think I appreciated how much I learned at the CDTM until much later, when some skills seemed to come naturally: Working with international and interdisciplinary teams, communicating with customers, presenting to leadership, having self-driven motivation, being proactive, making decision and delivering high-quality results.

I have been working at Oracle Labs since graduating from my Master’s in 2018 – three years after starting at CDTM. Within less than a year, I went from being an intern to managing a team of eight developers and being the product manager of a project within Oracle’s research branch. Right now, my teams focus on designing, implementing and maintaining services around open-source software, automating and improving internal processes and ensuring compliance with legal and security standards.

Without the learnings from my time at the CDTM, I would not have the role and responsibilities that I have now at Oracle Labs.
