Franz Waltenberger studied Technology and Management (B.Sc) at the Technical University of Munich and Politics, Economics and Philosophy (M.A.) at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and Sciences Po in Paris.

During his studies Franz worked for several SMEs in the areas of finance, cryptocurrencies and political lobbying. In his spare time, he likes to build and restore electric and combustion-powered motorcycles and bikes and is collecting and analyzing data in comment sections of German news outlets to understand what shapes public opinion online.

Franz joined the CDTM in January 2021 and is responsible for the Trend Seminar and the Entrepreneurship Taskforce. In his research, he is focusing on the effects of information technology on human behavior.
