Managing Product Developement (MPD), Center Life Taskforce
Research field: Computer Aided Biomimetics

Jose Vega studied Biomimetics (B.Sc.) and focused on bio-robotics during his masters in Robotics, Cognition and Intelligence at TUM. His research in Insect Neuroethology led him on multiple research stays at the University of Sussex in the UK. Jose joined the CDTM as a student in the class of Fall 2019.

Parallel to his studies, Jose worked for the CDTM Startup Plantura. Here he gained valuable insight into product development and oversaw the implementation of a new fulfilment strategy as a response to the COVID-19 crisis. Jose joined the CDTM management team in August 2021 and is responsible for the Managing Product Development (MPD) course and the Center Life Taskforce.

In his research, Jose wants to innovate in the field of Biomimetics. Nature holds the largest innovation database in existence, this knowledge, however, remains largely inaccessible to engineers. A new computer-aided methodology to translate biological knowledge into engineering solutions has the potential to unlock 3.5 b. years of accumulated knowledge.
