Research field: Neuromodulation

Julia Balowski studied Bioelectrical Engineering (B.Sc.) in the US and Neuroengineering (M.Sc.) at the Technical University of Munich. Parallel to her undergraduate degree, Julia worked in both the medical and engineering fields and completed a research stay in Beijing.

After her undergraduate, Julia joined a rotational program at Harman International, where she worked as an engineer on projects involving ADAS, physiological tracking, and digital health. During this time she moved to Munich for a project, and in 2020 she began her studies at TUM. While there she conducted research in AI ethics and nanomaterials for neuromodulation. In Fall 2022, Julia joined CDTM as a student, and in March 2023 she joined the CA team.

Julia is currently responsible for MPD and study abroad partnerships. She has not yet settled on a PhD topic, but is investigating the topic of neuromodulation from both a technical and social view.
